Vertical Farming in Prisons, Aeroponic Chilies, Growing Lettuce Remotely, and MORE! | 🌿Vertical Farming Weekly - August 26, 2022

It's Vertical Farming Weekly time again!

A few weeks back we featured an article on Boise Vertical Farm, who is providing second-chance employment for people and ex-convicts whom are recovering from substance abuse. Recently, UK based company LettUs Grow announced they will be bringing Vertical Farming into Worcestershire's HM Prison Hewell as part of the government's rehabilitation program.

Edit: 8/30/22 - You can read LettUs Grow's official press release here.

We talk a lot about sustainable agriculture but we don't talk enough about the sustainability of prisons. Tax payer dollars should be going towards rehabilitating convicts back into functional members of society, instead of keeping people in the system, which takes more money and resources.

As always, be sure to follow us on social media (linked at the end of this newsletter) and make sure you subscribe to Vertical Farming Podcast on your favorite podcast app so you don't miss the upcoming launch of season six.

Enjoy your weekend.
