A few months ago for Black History Month, we talked about how Africans (and thus African Americans) are responsible for many of the advancements and current practices in agriculture. But what are Black decedents contributing to agriculture today?

One of the unfortunate realities for many Americans (especially those in communities of color) is the sheer lack of healthy, fresh, and affordable food. Jamila Norman, a first generation immigrant, immediately noticed this problem after moving to a Black neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia. You can read this article to learn how Jamila brought positive change to her neighborhood using her family's background in agriculture.
