Mental Health Services for Farmers, Biodegradable Packaging, Conveyor Belts in Vertical Farms, and MORE! | 🌿Vertical Farming Weekly - August 15, 2022

Happy Monday everyone!

Welcome to another issue of the one, the only, Vertical Farming Weekly.

This week I'd just like to take a moment to talk about mental health. Every single one of us has mental health, no matter if it's good or bad. One of the absolute worst things any of us can do is ignore our mental health. That's why this week I'm highlighting the Missouri Department of Agriculture's new mental health hotline for farmers. Traditional farming is becoming more and more stressful by the day, as material prices continue to rise and demand for their crops, primarily grains in the US, falls. The new hotline, dubbed the AgriStress Hotline, is tailored to farmers specifically as it aims to connect rural families and individuals with mental health professionals that have a background in agriculture.

Missourians can reach the hotline by texting or calling 833-897-2474. For other mental health crisis you can reach the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

Now back to your semi-regularly scheduled content.
